A Holistic Approach to Education

At Bukalala Seminary, we believe that education extends beyond textbooks and classrooms. Our commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals is reflected in our diverse academic offerings. While we maintain a rigorous academic curriculum, we also emphasize spiritual growth, artistic expression, and cultural appreciation

Staff

The present community is composed of 21 permanent staff members, 37 part-time staff members, 15 supportive staff, 40 casual laborers and 523 Seminarians. Bukalasa Minor Seminary is the oldest seminary in Uganda and sub-Saharan Africa.

Vocation

Learners who join the seminary must have a calling and conviction to join the formation to priesthood because it invlolves a lot of sacrifice.

Academics

Rigorous Academic programs, Latin Choir and a wholistic education with public speaking sessions.

Prayer

We emphasize prayer to by promote ethical behavior, nurturing seminarians' spirits, and strengthening students' morals and values.

Devotion to Prayer

Daily prayers, meditation, and reflection sessions foster a deeper connection with faith and encourage ethical living and spiritual growth.

Choir and Music

Students learn vocal techniques, music theory, and the joy of collective expression. Whether during Mass or special events, our choir uplifts hearts.

Mathematics and Sciences

Seminarians engage in comprehensive Mathematics,Chemistry ,Physics and Biolog Subjects, equipping them with problem-solving skills and scientific knowledge. From algebra to biology, we encourage critical thinking and curiosity.

Languages

we Teach seminarians in English as the official language in Uganda, however Luganda, and Swahili Latin, hold a special place in Bukalasa Seminary. Students explore their rich history and influence on various disciplines.

Humanities

History, Geography, and Literature provide a window into the world. These subjects encourage students to explore different cultures, understand historical contexts, and appreciate the power of story telling
