Seminary Buildings

Being one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in Uganda and indeed over 118 years old Bukalasa Seminary is blessed with a number of buildings both old, for historical purposes, and new for developmental, purposes.

  • A chapel in the middle of the cemetery and a grotto nearby.
  • A renovated chapel dedicated to Our Lady, one of the oldest buildings in the seminary (1905),
  • A three -roomed old building opposite Our Lady’s Chapel built by the year and formerly used for as classroom but now serves as annex dormitory and an archive.
  • A three-roomed administration block for the offices of the prefects, Vice Rector and Rector, a four modern classroom block on one side, and a three storied brick red building  on another built between 1966 and 1969
  • There are remains of very long old building( Kimese soon to be demolished) built concurrently with the old long administration block, was ready for use by the year 1902 and was used as a dormitory / refectory.
  • A chemistry /Physics laboratory and a Biology laboratory building adjacent to this building
  • The H-shaped storied building facing south built from 1951 to 1959 originally used as a classroom block, but now is a multi-purpose building
  • A beautiful chapel in the middle of this building and opposite Our Lady’s chapel built between January and March 1905 and consecrated on 15th May by Bishop Henry Stretcher.
  • The fathers’ dining room near the old administration block and students refectory.
  • A three roomed general store adjacent to main garage.
  • A long old administration block connected to main garage.
  • A small modern red brick modern building used for various reasons.
  • A modern three storied building next to the old administration block started in 1975 and finished in 2018 to serve as a souvenir jubilee building for Fathers’ residence.
